Because i have experienced the worst performance of Dell Axim X30 Bluetooth GPS. I bought this system only because, in there website they says the whole Europe map is provided with the system. But when i got the system the EUROPE map was on 3 cd roms. When i tried to Install Whole EUROPE to the system i started getting messages like insufficient space and Insufficient memory. After about 2 hours i managed to install only the maps of West Midlands. The interesting thing was when i select the navigation Button, I have received another message " INSUFFICIENT MEMORY TO RUN THE APPLICATION". Looks funny right. After spending £400 and if it is not working!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I called there hardware support help lines. Unfortunately there engineers were unable to give a solution to rectify the problem. Finally i got a number to contact there software support team. As per them i will get software assistence only if i pay extra money.

Then after lots of arguments and phone calls they decided to take back the system and refund my money back. ???????????

Interesting right !!!!!!!! That too after paying £400......

Aby Joseph

Comments on Review of Dell Axim X30 Bluetooth GPS add-on

I have had an axim and dell gps for about 2 months-all the time talking to inept phone support people that keep telling me to reset the thing because it keep freezing--freezing when I use the keyboard, freezing when I use the gps system...Finally the resolution center sent me a new gps unit, which did not resolve the problem and then a new axim, which has not resolved the problem-only this time the axim keeps loosing the bluetooth...asking me to insert the card. Service says i should just keep resetting the axim..right...I need to reset every few miles...all while not using it while driving...a lawsuit in the making!

christie

Comments on Review of Dell Axim X30 Bluetooth GPS add-on

indeed, this is way too pricey. I just bought my BT-338 Bluetooth receiver with the latest SiRf Star III chipset (for $159.99 *including* shipping), and it works beautifully.

It tracks a total of 20 satellites and I was able to lock on 9 satellites even inside my apartment! On top of that, it has a battery life of 17 hours and weighs only 75 grams.

I recommend everyone to get a BT-338 :) It sells for about 150-180$ depending on the vendor (I got mine from http://www.abelida.com/gps.html) but if you are a gpsPassion member you may get it from semsons for cheaper. Or you can also try ebay

John
