It all sounds good. The chip will hold our medical and financial info. It will prevent identity theft. I read an article on smart guns that would use the technology to limit usage to authorized users only. It will act as a pass to allow us or not into restricted areas. The list is endless.

What you don't tell us is that you will know where we are at all times, know all our financial transactions and ultimately control us with this technology. Wether this is what you intend or not, it is feasable if it falls into the wrong hands. This may not initially be the mark of the beast, but it is more than likely the prototype of the technology that will be used to control the masses.

You discount the prophecies as irrelevent. But remember that what is comming to pass with globalization, unity and this technology was predicted accurately thousands of years ago.

Christians aren't the dummies here. Remember: 1 Cor.1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. I too, have come to understand that the Mark of the Beast is absolutely related to technology. The Word says that no one will be able to buy or sell anything without that Mark, in the days where people are required to take it to live. How else could the Anti-christ keep track of people enough to be able to prevent them from buying and selling anything unless they had that Mark, without the use of technology? It would be impossible. Without technology, what could prevent commerce from taking place? Little to nothing. No, I'm afraid technology will absolutely be involved here.

And whether you think this is on topic or not, another thing that's interesting is that we're in a very unique time in history, because the Anti-christ could not achieve his mission without the use of other technologies in addition, such as satellite/cable TV, satellite radio, wireless computers and phones, and wireless video, audio, voice, and data transmissions, and so forth. To achieve his mission, he has to be able to address everyone on the face of the Earth at once. Ask yourself how this could be achieved without the use of advanced technologies like those I mentioned above? The answer is, it couldn't. These technologies would have to be in place in order for him to fulfill his objectives. At no time in history, prior to these technologies could he have addressed all the Earth at once. Whether, TV, or radio, or other forms of communication, just about everything is satellite based in some form these days, and the devices we have are becoming more and more ubiquitous and capable of handling all of these technologies. We see them in our homes, cars, at work, and in our pockets. They're capable of handling video and audio streams, voice and data, in real time, and are growing in power and capability at a geometric rate. Implant technology is just a part of all of this.

Funny, silly, or stupid to some, yes, (so sigh, roll your eyes, laugh, or do what you do), but those with true understanding know that technology is very much tied in with the fulfillment of certain parts of God's Word, and with each passing day, the timer keeps counting down to the events found in the book of Revelation, and to the day we all answer to God.

On the subject of VeriChips, they will be used, it’s inevitable they will have some good uses and some bad.
These things are already in use for tagging pets & successfully recovering one’s cute kitten when it goes missing isn’t that malevolent is it?

Ok, so they probably will get used to impinge on our ‘liberty’ at some point in the future but so what? We have no freedom or power now, so what is it you think we’re going to lose.
Just answer this, how free are we now: Our money is taken off us, we have no choice in this (this is called taxation) to fund puppets(Presidents and Prime Ministers) who take over whole countries resources (Afghanistan – Land containing an oil pipeline, Iraq – Land containing Oil) for the slave masters (Petrochemical Companies). Actually we do know what technology the antichrist will use. Read this and you decide:

Notice that the verse didn't say anything about the mark being on the hand or forehead but IN the right hand or forehead.

How do you know it isn’t just a scathing document unsuccessfully predicting the end of the roman empire. The mark of the beast (Nero – whose name adds up to 666 in Hebrew) being imprinted on roman helmets and coinage.

Was John talking about VeriChips? Well, maybe I'm wrong, but I have a sneaking suspicion that no one knew what a VeriChip was way back then, but of course, God knows everything, and John had quite the intense vision, so who knows every detail for sure what he saw in the way of that.

But that isn't the point. The point is, the only way that you can control the masses down to an individual level, is through technology coupled to finances, and then removing freedom of choice by forcing every person on Earth to participate, and if they don't, they die. That's the only way that kind of control could be implemented on a global scale. It's just putting two and two together. What God's Word refers to may not be known to us as "VeriChip" at all. VeriChip is just the beginning phase of the technology designed to warm people up to the idea of implants, so that when the time comes for them to receive the Mark of the Beast, many won't think twice. The Mark of the Beast that John refers to may go by another moniker altogether, other than "VeriChip", when it finally arrives.

Obviously you have no respect for the Word of God and are reading it on a strictly humanistic level or you would not speak of it in the way you do!

I think Z has it right. The verichip is the beginning of what will eventually lead to the mark of the beast. No matter how you look at it you have got to admit that the world is moving in the direction of a one world government and the Verichip does fit the criteria for the mark of the beast.

Christians will understand these things and seek to warn as they have for centuries. You cannot nor will you want to understand the bible in it's context until you become saved. It is a fact. The company in Florida that is producing the VeriChip, may now be backing out of its production for now. FDA just released that if you get a MRI or need one done you would get badly burned because of the chip. So they are saying if you are thinking about recieving this chip to consider never getting an MRI.

I'm writing a term paper on the social implications of human RFID implants for one of my classes. We have to pick a topic in CS or CEG and write about its social implications. My professor rejected the idea that RFID implants were a religious issue. He said that I'm the only one opposed to it for religious reasons. He also said that I was being biased for claiming that it was a religious issue.

Question: If you never heard of RFID, would you think that it is a religious issue after reading this (or similar) threads?

Grammer issue: Remember that this is a 'gadget' site and not a 'literaty' site. I've never been to a private university, but state schools have achieved diversity. In computer science and computer engineering, the dominant ethnic group is Indian, followed by Chinese, followed by white American. I think that the foreign visitors to this site speak and write English much better than I could ever speak or write Hindi or Chinese.

Is Bush the Anti-Christ?
In my opinion, the Anti-Christ will rise up with overwhelming support. I don't beleive that he or she will induce many adverse political ads. For the same reason, I don't believe that the Pope is the Anti-Christ.

Back to the chip: This thread appears consistant with all the others. I agree with those of you who think that this will become law. I choose to not receive this technology at all costs. Also, the fact that the VeriChip is NOT mandatory proves to us that the thing is not the THE mark of the beast.
But still it can and surely is a step very close to the real mark of the beast. It is maybe one of the beta programs of the future, technological, real, used by anti-christ, device. The thing that maybe scares me the most is that it's maybe a device that is so close to the MARK that the gap(s) between the two could only be something technological that we can fix from the exterior.
In other words, it means that if you have this implanted under your skin, to futurely evolve to the real MARK you only have to change some information or code from the exterior (from a computer or device that can change something in the VeriChip without producing another model of the VeriChip to be implanted under our skin, so we would be inevitably marked!)
That would be some real serpent cunning...

Now all we, born again christians don't have to be scared about that since God promised us to be part of the rapture. But for those that will want to give their lives to Christ during the 7year period... Let's not go to far.

All the maybes in the text our attributed to the fact that only God can know the time when it'll happen.

One thing sure is that we can prevent us to pass through the tribulation times by giving our lives to Jesus.

The technology is there, time is not.

I would never take the chip nor any of my family, they know better & I have told them & they understand what it means.
I don't understand why anybody would. I won't even consider ever putting it in my pets or getting a pet with a chip in it.
I might be the last person or only person that uses cash only & money orders.
One thing, What is going to happen to the people that are getting the chip now? You will have a choice,can they take it out?
