Don't use a GPS-enabled cellphone to prank call 911
GPS turned out to be a total buzzkill for a 14-year old kid in Tennessee who discovered the hard way that his
cellphone was GPS-enabled and that the police were easily tracking him as he made multiple prank emergency calls to 911
while riding the school bus home after school the other day.

Soft GPS is very inaccurate, basically useless, they probably just looked up the kids account info and tracked him down.

Betcha he needed a change of shorts after his bus got pulled over by a police officer! I'd have loved to seen that kids face...lol

That wouldn't necessarily work since even a disabled, account-less cell phone is still able to dial 911.

If you read the story closely the last prank call he made was that his mommy was getting beat up by his daddy... sounds like an episode right outta Cops!

They should ship him off to the John Ashcroft Scared Straight program! 8-)

With a cell phone with GPS with a lock, knows its location within 100 yards and sends it to the 911 center.
