What about moving the applications that are huge onto your SD memory card (that's what I do on the treo 600)?

Is this an official statement from Palm one? Is it fixable? Sounds like it's a cluster size issue, that should be fixable with somekind of firmware.

And 010111, I will try to provide you with the answers that were given to us at the conference held in DC by palm one specifically for the treo (which ends up being 350 bucks, if you actually attend).

"1) include wifi... or include the ability to at least add it ... preferrably without loosing the SD slot."

The ability for Wifi is there. The constraint is no longer the power capabilities of the SD card slot, but now it's a matter of making the wifi radio components work alongside the Cell phone Radio components of the treo (think about it).

"2) fix this new issue. or double the RAM... 32MB? rrright."

32MB is nothing, i'll agree, but if you have mission critical apps, you will want to invest into a SD memory card, that just makes more sense.

"3) do not cripple the bluetooth. at all. ever. "

There is no need to assume bluetooth will be crippled. Bluetooth has been added, everyone can rejoice now.

"4) slightly less sucky camera."

I played with the new camera, and I have to say it's amazing. Palmone really did do their research on upgrading the value of the WHOLE unit as opposed to just the features themselves.

"5) do all that and not jack up the price for the 'upgrade' to what it should have had since they announced it."

Palm one has been pretty good about posting fixes for free. I dont know where you got this notion of a price increase for a fix. That's MS, not P1.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Blademonkey

Comments on Treo 650 memory usage problems?

I recently got a 1 GB SD card ($50) and it's just WAITING to be inserted into my preordered Treo 650. Major disappointment so far. The installation of GoodLink, a drug database and the Adobe reader immediately maxed out the base memory. The SD expansion card is problematic for some programs.
