Look at the lower right of both screens. The right one actually has darker blacks and the same reds. The left one has hardly any black. At least in the Epson booth, the 3LCD displays were much, much better than the DLP units they were being compared to. The picture here isn't doing it justice. A photo of the difference doesn't mean much; too easy to doctor.  You have to see it in person.  When I saw the Epson display at CES I wondered if they had crippled the DLP in some way; the DLPs sucked next to the Epson panels.
