the argument is that the "shuffle" is a post-placed adjective, ala attorney general. The attorney general is an attorney with general duties (not, e.g., specific to one department). so when you talk about the head legal officer of the 50 states, you refer to the "attorneys general" not the "attorney generals." in a similar vein, if you have two heterosexual married sisters, you have two brothers-in-law, not two brother-in-laws. applying the same reasoning, one ends up with "iPods shuffle" as the plural of "iPod shuffle."
