Supersized personal video player

8-inch portable video player

We're not even sure we feel comfortable tossing this one in the "Portable Video" category, but DAPreview spotted this massively personal video player with a massive 8-inch screen that's even bigger than the 6.5-inch screen found on the DVX-POD 7010 (and that bad boy is already as big as we like these babies to get). No word on what kind of battery life this thing gets, but we do know that it'll come with up to an 80GB hard drive, a CompactFlash memory card reader, built-in stereo speakers, and support for playback of MPEG-1, MPEG-2 (including VOB), MPEG-4, DivX, and AVI video files, as well as WMA, WAV, and MP3 audio files. Hard to imagine anyone casually lugging this around, at least not when you could carry something a little more useful around like a laptop or a small tablet PC instead, but if the battery life is good enough we could actually see families tossing these in the backseat during roadtrips. (See, we can be nice when we want to be.)
