LG @ CTIA - The VX8100

LG VX8100

We've known about the LG VX8100, LG's followup to the VX8000 (which was their first EV-DO handset for Verizon) since mid-December, but up until now all we'd been able to see of it was a photo leaked from an FCC filing that only really showed what it looked like from the back after you removed the battery (i.e. - just like every other friggin' clamshell out there). Anyway, LG has finally decided to go public with VX8100, and here's the scoop: like the VX8000, the VX8100 is also on the EV-DO tip (naturally), is compatible with their V Cast video-on-demand service, and has a 1.3 megapixel digital camera, but then sweetens the deal with Bluetooth, stereo speakers, a miniSD memory card slot, and dedicated MP3 player control buttons (the specs also list it as having tons more memory—512MB of flash ROM and 256MB of RAM—but that doesn't sound quite right, so we'll have to double check). If you just bought the VX8000 you have our permission to feel very annoyed.
