Samsung's pendant-style YP-F1 MP3 player
A product page has turned up on Samsung's South Korean page for the YP-F1, one of the MP3 players the day they
announced that they expected to be the number one
manufacturer of MP3 players in the world by 2007. The player itself is no great shakes, but the flash-based,
pendant-style YP-F1 does come in 256MB, 512MB, and 1GB flavors and have an FM tuner, swappable face plates, and a
built-in clip for attaching to your clothes.

Sweet!
Now if they'll Bluetooth and Microphone it so it works with my mobile, I'll be all over it.
this is nice
phone/1GB mp3 player is the real iPod killer.
Apple watch out!
Id buy this in an iSecond! I like the fact that it clips on to your clothes too... obviouslt obne of the bigger selling points..... and um... take that!
The clip is a great idea. When are we going to see an mp3 player with the form factor of a belt-clip pager? (Display on the top -- imagine a player you didn't have to hold up to your face to operate!)

Hey, that's pretty neat - specifically the built-in clip, great for workouts or quick trips out when I dont want to bring my iPod! Me likee.
No bluetooth but it does support voice/FM recording and OGG! I love the changeable covers too.
you guys are lost, samsung wont be number 1 they will never be number 1. wait til the sony mp3 players stomp all over it. you guys are getting wet just thinking about the clip...woopty doo a clip!
Jem,
It's quite funny how you say "Samsung will never become number 1". Remember when Samsung was a cheap "me too" brand selling knock off products from Japan? Nobody figured they were going to be this big and this prestigious in their brand power and market prowess. Samsung earns more profit than all of Japan's major electronics companies combined. Their market capitalization is 3 times greater than that of Sony's. It wouldn't suprise me when they actually do become number 1 in the future. They already have the track record.
not "subscription" capable. that sux.
I absolutely LOVE mine, but the battery pooped out while I was on vacation. It requires a computer USB port to recharge. :( Does anyone know if they had created a wall charger for this thing? It's the only negative point I have to make about it and I'm a diehard mac user.
Where are you guys from? I got one of these duty free in Singapore, but it's not a UK model and I can't get it to work with my laptop. Any bright ideas?
I ran the auto update and now it will not turn on i have no idea how to contact samsung is piss me of.. i love it
My lovely wife got me one of these for Xmas. What a neat little item. And the clip is MANDATORY for a skier. Don't want to lose this little jewel. I am sure an accesory battery charger will be in the offing. If I can figure out the voltage and connections I will make one myself from a Rat Shack universal.
Has anyone been able to use it on a subscription service? The box says it's not subscription capable, playsforsure.com says it is, Rhapsody says it's not, and a listing for Yahoo to Go I read says it is.
