Alienware lining up Intel's dual-core chips

Alienware ALX

Alienware isn't about to be the last kid on the block to feature one of Intel's new dual-core CPUs in their systems, so they're already pimping their new Pentium Processor Extreme Edition 840 (ahem!) and 955X chipset-equipped Area-51 line—yes, those are the two, two, two-CPUs-in-one chips that also feature Hyperthreading, so expect your Windows box to show four CPUs; four heads are better than one, and all that. Exactly how well this is going to improve performance in non-paralellized and non-thread-optimized applications is yet to be fleshed out, but a few extra CPUs can't hurt, right?
