RIM dives into three enterprise IM deals

BlackBerry 7200 series

RIM today announced not one, not two, but three huge deals with Microsoft, Novell and IBM surrounding enterprise IM (they do have some mad cash to make back, and all). Enterprise IM contrasts with consumer IM by adding security to IM communications, as well as providing server software to run the IM server in-house. RIM expects to start trials with Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005 to kick off in September, and have already started the testing phase with IBM's Lotus Instant Messaging. No word on when anything will get underway with Novell's GroupWise Messenger.
