The Digital Bio Disk home cancer detector

Not sure how badly you want to learn that you have cancer from something that looks like a mid-Nineties CD-ROM drive as opposed to your doctor, but a team of South Korean scientists have created a home cancer and diabetes detection kit that'll go on sale next year. The Digital Bio Disk, as it's called, can scan for both diseases using just a few drops of blood (it's not clear from the article whether it actually detects the disease itself, or just one's genetic predisposition), apparently all you have to do is press a button and you should have results in about forty minutes. It's only about 90% accurate, so probably not a good idea to make any big decisions without having some proper tests done in a lab first.
