Italy's Faber debuts ImagoMedi@ multimedia range hood

Kitchen-based media players have been around for years, with the most successful units being those that mount underneath counters; there are versions with radios, CD players, and of course, DVD/LCD-display combos. Now Italy's Faber is looking to reclaim another neglected piece of kitchen real estate as a locale for media: the range hood. Faber's ImagoMedi@, billed as a "multimedia hood," includes a 14-inch touchscreen, environmental control functions, inputs for DVD and VCR, and database access for recipes. We assume it also sucks up heat and smoke from the stove, which makes us just a little nervous about using it for any of those other functions.
