Ten Technology's naviPlay finally plays
Okay, the clock has been ticking on this device since it was supposed to debut over a year ago. And now, at long last, it exists — or at least, they're taking money for it. $199 worth of your money, to be exact, for this Bluetooth audio streaming solution that conjoins you and iPod in wireless musical bliss. It also connects to your Bluetooth cellphone so you can control music and place/receive calls using the same stereo remote. Very nice, very nice, but it's an automatic 12 point deduction for tardiness.

thats stupid, Id rather get the iMuffs, whats the point? that reciever thing is almost the same size as an iPod....
What the hell are you talking about?
It's been in the Apple Stores and reviewer's hands for months.
If you want to report on this product, report on how it just recently (last week) gained the ability to be a Bluetooth cellphone headset, picking up a cell call when it comes in & muting iPod audio.
Barb Dybwad.. the same dimwad who posted the mL_ipod thing after we know it's ancient
DOWN WITH BARB! DOWN WITH BARB!
It existed before, but didn't have the Bluetooth Option.
Now that Bluetooth has been added, it qualifies as a NEW product.
LONG LIVE BARB!
Sorry... this has always been a bluetooth product. It received a firmware upgrade and 1 new feature. This does *not* qualify as a new product, sorry.
Not that I really care as much as I made it sound. ;-)
One can imagine this technology enabling roadcasting. Wow.
You have to be kidding: from their site: "anytime being tied to your iPod would limit your range of motion"--isn't that the point of an ipod, that it's really portable?
And I agree with Dean: the receiver is almost as big and then you still have a long cord to the headphones. And a transmitter on the ipod. So you just tripled the number of pieces you have to carry in addition to headphones. What would you do, put the ipod and transmitter in your right pocket and the receiver in the left?
Oh, and it costs almost as much as the ipod.
This has to be the dumbest product I have seen for the ipod. I bet they still sell a bunch.
The only use I see for this thing is if you have a bluetooth car like the new Lexus. Then it would be pretty pimp. (but not for $200! knock it down to $80 and we'll talk)
I'm assuming a bluetooth connection would be WAY better than those crappy FM trasmitters, but who knows....
AFAIC, iMuffs [giggle] blow this thing out of the water. As #1 pointed out, for $199, why bother with this thing if you now have to lug two bricks around--let's not even get started on batteries.
