The Connection2 Identicom

connextion2 identicom

Think twice before messing with those parking attendants and late-night fast food rent-a-cops. Now Connexion2 is offering the Identicom — a protection device worn by persons who face threat of verbal or physical abuse during their working day (hey, that's us!). This tri-band GSM device can be discretely activated (button on back), sending a predefined text message or initiating an "open voice call" to a responsible party allowing verbal abuse to be heard and recorded. It also features a "stop and check" function to make sure the device is on the network before entering a potentially hazardous situation and also allows you to pre-record useful information (e.g., I don't like the looks of those kids) before the visit is made. Then, failure to respond to the timer will cause the device to enter an automatic alert status. The device weighs 78 grams (that's equivalent to a little more than 3 iPod shuffles around your neck) and the rechargeable battery will last about 3 days on standby or provide an estimated 3 hours of talk time. You'll need that time to explain where you're located 'cause they don't offer of any type of white-bronco tracking service (e.g., E-GPS).
