If you ever travel to Asia and see the switches there, you'll be surprised. They're modern and sleep, and they look good on the wall. Most people do go with the cheap ugly ones, though. (Like this: http://www.sensatech.com/common/images/light-switch-2way.jpg )  It's my fav...  It's always easy to use, easy on the eyes, and best of all you can get models that light up when they are off.
