Honestly, if they offered a new OGO with phone capabilities, I'd be set for life. Well, until I have a robot to play soccer against. :)

Robert Preseau

Comments on Report: Ogo to go overseas

If the Ogo had a phone it would have been better than the Sidekick. I work in courthouses all over the country. I just spent 3 weeks in Federal Court, and for the most part Federal courts don't allow any cell phones, and if they do allow them, they don't allow camera, so forget bringing in you phone if it has a camera. The Ogo is great for this. I had to explain to the marshalls about 4 times, that it wasn't a phone or a camera, and they had no choice but allowed me to bring it in. It was a vital link between me in court, and my out of court coworker.

Byron

Comments on Report: Ogo to go overseas

It turned out to be OGO has been introduced to TURKISH market about 2 weeks ago. I believe it costs about $90 in local currency. I am really curious if their sale will be a big disappointment there as well.If you can't use it as a cell phone even w/headset why bother to keep 2 different units on you.It reminded me a MOTOROLA 'V' series text messaging phone w/out a speaker. That did not do well either.

El Turco

Comments on Report: Ogo to go overseas

Ogi is far from dead, and not everyone needs voice as stated above. Ogo has a very viable U.S. Market and following - it was hurt most by the merger between ATT/Cingular and also by limited scope in marketing.

It is much more popular in business and hearing impaired markets than in the orginally targeted teen markets.

For more info read the following articles:

http://newworldsrd.blogspot.com/2005/06/why-ogo-part-iii-comments-from-other.html

http://forums.cingular.com/cng/board/message?board.id=ogo&message.id=7203

Robert_DarkFall
