You would jsut print on paper and then heat transfer it.

Doesn't go into depth about what they are using in this though. The Technology is based out of israel, actually most shirt printing tech is based out of there. But it's a direct print onto the garment, no sublimation. The shirts actually look ok, and there are no limits when it comes to printing on white. I prefer the look of screenprinting myself, but people who don't gag at cafe' press stuff will like this machines quality. There is a machine that can print white on black, but they aren't happy with the quality yet. I was told it's about 3 years off at the most before this puts me out of business. I doubt it though, screenprinting still looks the best for spot colors on dark garments.

Sean Ingram

Comments on Fast T-Jet, the $10K t-shirt printer

Yeah, this type of printing is not nearly as good as screen printing. I certainly think they have their place in the market. No Screens and setups to perform before printing. Print right from your computer (from ANY software) to the Garment Printer.

The SWF Fast T-Jet printer is "Portable" so if you do any sporting events or trade shows you can pack it up and take it with you and sell a $3-4 t-shirt for $20-25 retail after you customize it with the person's desired graphics.

I run several on-line e-commerce t-shirt businesses and I am getting tired of stocking hundreds of t-shirts in my warehouse and I am considering just stocking some blank garments and then printing the designs on the t-shirts as they are ordered with one of these ink jet garment printers.

Is there anyone out there that owns any of these printers who can give me some pros and cons?

Thanks,
Rick

Rick

Comments on Fast T-Jet, the $10K t-shirt printer

Rick,

I am an authorized reseller for the Fast T-Jet and have two units myself (just purchased my second). You are absolutely right when you say it would work great for events and trade shows. I just bought the second unit for that purpose.. but more to demonstrate/sell the units instead of sell $20+ shirts.

As for the Pro's and Con's...

Pro's:
- Perfect for the small custom shirt orders
- Perfect for printing individual names on shirts from same order
- Great photo-realistic quality
- Print from any graphics software
- NO Screens, NO Emulsions, NO Setup and NO Mess
- Quick Turn around time on smaller orders
- Soft touch, no thick buildup of inks
- 'Portable' unit

Con's:
- Speed, speed, speed :-) Being a screen printer for 18 years, the speed took some getting used to for me. The main thing someone needs to realize is that the machine is NOT designed for production. When you take into account the prep time to screenprint a 12 shirt order, by the time you coat your screen(s) with emulsion, shoot the screen(s) and then set up... you're done printing on a Fast T-Jet and ready to deliver the order. But on the other hand, if you want to print a larger order (say 50 shirts+) you're much better off screen printing them unless there are names, etc... on the shirt.

Long story short, it's not for everyone but if you have the online businesses as you described, it's definitely something to consider! If you have any samples you'd like printed, let me know.

Best Regards,

Fred
www.americanscreensupply.com

Fred

Comments on Fast T-Jet, the $10K t-shirt printer

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention....within a month, the same unit will be able to print on black shirts as well!

Fred

Fred

Comments on Fast T-Jet, the $10K t-shirt printer

Being involved in inkjet technologies for about the last 8 years I have developed many inkjet systems to print on non standard substrates, such as fingernails, check out (imaginail.com) Direct to T-Shirts printers have really been around for many years. It's only been recently that some acceptable textiles inks have been good enough to endure the wash cycle.
The ability to print on demand is defiantly an asset, but $11,000 for a slow printer is not very attractive plus $400 per liter of ink is… well absurd. This prompted me to make my own direct to T-Shirt printers for a fraction of the cost others on the market.
You might want to check us out if your entertaining this future trend @belquette.com in garment printing.

Mark Mombourquette

Comments on Fast T-Jet, the $10K t-shirt printer

OK, it looks like the Belquette printer will give the Fast T-Jet some well-deserved competition. This printer does fill in a missing link, there has been lots of work-arounds before this printer. I think this will make things easy. Dye sublimation requires a special fabric. Imagine someone giving you a garment off the shelve, and you put a image directly on it. Sounds like a money maker to me.

Rodney Maezx

Comments on Fast T-Jet, the $10K t-shirt printer

I WANT TO KNOW THE PRICE OF T JET PRINTER,AND THE COST OF SHIPPING TO GHANA,I WANT TO HERE YOU SOON,THANK YOU

AZIZ IDDRISS

Comments on Fast T-Jet, the $10K t-shirt printer

TEXJET T-Shirt printer will be at the next SGIA digital show 8-10 December, Phoenix, Arizona.
