Haha. Would you prefer that the company kept the employees and drove itself into the ground thereby being forced to fire everyone and for shareholders (who, btw, are usually institutional shareholders  and there is a good chance that means that they consist largely of you and me and grandma in the form of mutual funds and 401k plans) to lose tons of value in their holdings? I'm sick of people thinking that companies are monolithic, detached entities.
