HTC Wizard coming to Cingular on October 24th?
We're a little sketched out by this one, since obviously it wouldn't be too hard to fake, but reader "Armin" posted a link in the comments to yesterday's post about the Qtek 8310 to what is purportedly a page from a leaked Cingular product schedule that shows the HTC Wizard with an estimated arrival date of October 24th. Definitely not impossible, just the first we've heard about a solid release date for the Wizard here in the States.

Cingular?
*YAWWWWWWWWWWWWWN*
only if Cingular would offer unlimited data and SMS plan only like T-mobile offer for crap Sidekick.
Bad mouth Cingular all you want. They are coming out with some great devices and once the network integration is complete they will have the best network in the US. For anyone who travels internationally, they are the only option.
I'll be carrying one of these as soon (if not before) as this device is released...
Man that guy is so effin dumb... thanks for killing it for all the rest off us jackass... Cingular will take that down like right away... Have you ever heard of Business Security?..
Some people need a brain...
Why block out the rest of the release data?
What's a Faraday?
spartacus13b, first of all, if you havent noticed, go read up, i didn't post that pic on howard forums, second of all, its on imageshack, how is cingular gonna take it down? dumb wad, thanks, come again!
I'm not sure I get the cingular connection.?? Is the page not listed with Orange in big bold letters. as in Orange Wireless... UK??
Orange refers to the legacy Cingular network (their colours were Orange) and, if you click on the picture, you'll see Blue (which refers to the legacy AT&T Wireless network (whose colour was blue.)
What's interesting is that the SMT 5600 will be replaced by the Faraday which has received scant attention here. This next generation SMT 5600 device has wi-fi and a "hump" on the top of the unit. It should be called the Quasimodo. While it's not as pretty as the SMT 5600, it does have the Wi-Fi and it has EDGE as well.
The keys are set too close together however, so don't go chucking your SMT 5600 just yet.
As for the other HTC device, ain't it great that this replaces the SX-66? That device was horrendous.
Oh yeah, Cingular Roolz!
Why do I have to move to a slower processor and a smaller screen to get PPC 2K5, BT 1.2(better be), EDGE(hopefully) and a bigger (hopefully better) keyboard. (I gives a damn about the camera and I have full-sized SD memory)
This does not feel like a worthwile replacement to my SX66.
Where in the damn hell is the Universal?!?
That fool needs to quit playing with my emotions and steal something useful, like the Universal release data.
There will be lots of toys for the Holidays boys. HTC Hurricane on Sprint next month, HTC Wizard by Cingular and T-Mobile in October, and the HTC Universal. For those waiting for the Unviversal, be prepared to carry a brick. The thing is huge and makes the SX66 look small. The Wizard & Hurricane are small and very similar in size to the Samsung i730. And if these devices are cool, the ones coming next year will get even better. That Motorola Q is the end of the Blackberry. The pictures on the Internet do not do any justice to that device. There is a reason for the Q to be in the Razor family.
When is this device coming out! Ive seen a ton of posts regarding TMOBILE getting it but not Cingular, do we really know for certain that this device will be launched in late October!
Thanks,
Nick
