CBS plans 17 hours of weekly primetime HDTV

CBS

The CBS fall lineup has been out for a while and today the company is highlighting the HDTV aspect of it. CBS will provide 17 hours of weekly primetime programming HDTV and a majority of it will now include 5.1 Surround Sound.

According to CBS, the following HDTV shows will now include the upgraded sound to complement the high-def video: "Cold Case, The King Of Queens, How I Met Your Mother, Out Of Practice, CSI: Miami, NCIS, Close To Home, Still Standing, Yes Dear, Criminal Minds, CSI: NY, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Ghost Whisperer, Threshold, NUMB3RS and the Crimetime Saturday block. Additionally, select CBS Sunday Movies will also feature 5.1."

All of these make sense except for "Ghost Whisperer". Why do we want to hear anyone "whisper" in 5.1 Surround Sound? Anyway, get your home theater equipment upgraded before the fall season starts.
