Pioneer S-FL1 flat-panel DJ speaker
The latest application of NXT's flat-panel speaker technology comes from Pioneer, who has announced their "S-FL1" flat DJ speaker. Featuring a thickness of just over 2 inches, the unit projects as much as 90dB of sound out both sides, supposedly helping to envelope the listener in music. Since the speaker surface measures 27 x 20-inches and weighs 22 pounds, it also features a handle for easy transportation. Wow, that almost makes us think there are DJs out there who can actually afford the 168,000 yen ($1,522 USD) sticker price.
