hi-tech door handle

Remember when being called a "knob" was an insult? Well, hold your head up 'cause the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics has developed a high-tech communication and security door handle prototype featuring an integrated digital camera, door bell, two-way intercom, sensing devices like RFID and motion detectors, and more. They hope their device will make adding the latest security and communication system as simple (and cost effective) as replacing the door handle and lock casing. Sounds like a good solution for managing low-traffic entry points but not at the entrance of your Times Square HQ where speedy revolving doors or chivalrous door-holding are still customary.
