ED Digital to display HD LCDs with built-in Windows Media Connect at CES
ED Digital are some new kids on the LCD TV block,
but they're bringing the goods. They have been working with Microsoft on integrating Windows Media Connect into their forthcoming
Digitrex HD LCD TVs and will be showing their wares at CES. Making a network hookup into the next video connector via
your PC seems like a natural extension of the technology, and we sure wouldn't mind putzing around with a bit of PlaysForSure media directly on our TV, but somehow the
Microsoftyness seems a bit more restrictive when you're not hooking up a whole Media PC to your display, so you let's
hope some more vendors get in on this party.[Via HD Beat]

I'm hardly a master with the English language - but I think there are a few really dodgy sentences in this article - "but they're bring the goods." "up a whole Media PC to you display" ?? I thought this was Engadget.com?
Is it compatible with any UPNP media server? Apparently, the 360 works fine with twonkyvision. Any free programs that do that BTW? But this will support video? The only mpeg4 this will probably support is WMV though. :( Not DivX/XviD or H.264. They need to support more video codecs. They also might need to support more audio codecs.
I feel like such a noob asking this question, but what does CES stand for? it doesn't even say anything on the CES site (http://www.cesweb.org/) about what it stands for. Can anyone help?
Consumer Electronics Association, it says right there on the website :)
thats cea...
Actually CES stands for Consumer Electronics Show, hence the acronym CES and not CEA.
Sometimes I wonder if Engadget has chimps for writers. Go ahead, hate me.
Happy 2006.
wow!!! you people are bitter, the writers of the article can write how ever they get paid to, why don't you go write your own article. Stop complaining, and smile.
