While no one can be in favor of abandoning a child, this is one of those situations where a real problem (abandoned babies) has to be remedied with a real solution. Neat article though, once a baby is inside, is it locked from the outside world? ie. can someone who isnt authorized open the cradle and steal the baby.

I totally agree, it makes no sense. The whole feminist movement makes no sense. They want to be treated fairly, by being treated better. Same thing with civil rights. They dont want to be treated equally, they want to be treated better than everyone else.The arguement being that its 'retribution' for past wrongs commited by our ancestors to theirs. All: But what got me was the 400/year number. Wouldn't you hate to be sneaking over there and dumping off your unwanted baby to run into ANOTHER person doing the same? That would be awkward.

The woman has already had to go through 9 months of pregnancy as well as the labor to have that child. The man "merely" had to have an orgasm.



If the father doesn't want the child, he has the option of not having sex (same as the woman, really), or convincing the woman to give up the baby, or aborting it if it's in the right country at the right time.



The mother has four options:

Convincing the husband to abort

Convincing the husband to give up for adoption

Keeping the baby



The father has four options:

Convincing the mother to abort

Convincing the mother to give up the baby

Keeping the baby

While I too am not in agreement with abandoning babies, its a hell of a lot better than dumping them out in the forest or in trash cans or public toilets like what used to happen.



The last time I heard statistics about it, they were saying that almost 100% of the babies are HIV positive, meaning that the mothers were HIV positive and were probably suffering badly from AIDS and could not look after the babies at all.
