Apple's Macworld booth tour

There are only three words to describe Apple's booth here at Macworld: Totally. Freaking. Crowded. Nearly everyone jetted straight here from Steve's keynote, and in minutes it was a complete mob scene. Click on for a visual tour.

No, this isn't a shot of Steve's keynote -- this is a massive group of people watching a product demo.

A long row of Intel iMacs.

Security had that giant sign on lockdown.

While I was watching the Steve Jobs keynote at MacWorld announce how itunes now has SNL episodes, more content for it's video store ... etc.
Quietly at Google they have opened the Google Video Store ... some smart planning on their part? Not sure but the timing is pretty interesting.
WOW! All I can say is video on the internet has just been taken up a notch. Not only can you buy video episodes of "I Love Lucy" or watch the "Magic @ Raptors - Jan 4, 2006" game but any tom, dick or harry can post their video for sale by using the Video Upload Program.
The Internet is starting to get interesting ... again!

More products to drool over. I think that the Video iPod will do for independant film what iTunes has done for independant music which is grow the industry. iTunes has unparalleled access for indie labels and groups to get around the mega label and RIAA nonsense. I see this happening for indie movies now. Word of mouth on the internet will drive it and maybe we can get some old shows that may not have been profitable to press to DVD on iTunes. Automan anyone?

Hopefully it will bet better+

Gah. I gotta say. I love you engadget. Every other site covering Macworld is soooo slow and not able to update nearly as fast as Engadget. You guys kick ass! Thanks for the great work!
I'm really intrested in the first third party benchmarks. Any news of MacBook Pros on display?

wow ... i was expecting S Jobs to say he found the cure for cancer, or he solved the world energy problem, or that he is actually a being from another world and lays video ipods from his alien uterus ... instead, we got an FM tuner for the newer ipods ... fell for the hype again ... *yawn*

the video store at google is pretty low-rent. also,
Sorry, purchasing this video requires Windows 2000 or Windows XP.
So that leaves me out.

What? No Wi-Fi/Bluetooth iPods? :(
JesseRPI @ Jan 10th 2006 8:10PM
I'm just not too crazy about the name, MacBook. Doesn't quite roll off the tongue very nicely... I keep wanting to see Big Mac. Is it just me?
JesseRPI @ Jan 10th 2006 8:15PM
I meant "say," not see - Oops!
raptor @ Jan 10th 2006 9:04PM

The good thing about google video is that if you actually own a ipod with video you can dowload videos that are already in formatt for free. Well atleast things i like...like top gear and such.
