4 probably has it right--an iPod Hi-Fi, logically, would be a shelf-top component that would supply audio to an amplifier. My hope is that you'll be able to dock your iPod into it and take advantage of digital signal processing and an EQ or something like that. The universal dock doesn't really lend itself to being wired into a massive sound system.



Of course, in an ideal world, the iPod Hi-Fi would be Mac's hip, cool, retro name for a massive multimedia center that would record and play audio and video that you could then dump onto your iPod and take with you.
