There's a good video of an RC Concord. Google for "2006-RC_concorde.wmv". You can actually hear the turbine in that one.

The range is limited to your vision. If you can see it, it's still in range. And just so you know, my $35 digital receiver alone has a listening range of 1000 feet, not taking into effect the braodcasting range of the transmitter.

Also the e-turbine mentioned earlier is not a turbine, it's a ducted fan. Not even close to the same thing.

I would be way too scared to ever fly this thing, though - crashing one of these from altitude is just as destructive as crashing a real one (to the plane, at least). And that's a lot of money down the drain.
