Maybe they were talking about the bluetooth version.

Anyway, I wouldn't get it - I don't like the square-screen PDAs. If I pay that much for a device, I want widescreen so my videos look good in it. 240x240 square means that your video(even SDTV 4:3) will have black bars across the top and bottom. Why get it if you're just gonna use it as a phone? Ten years ago, we had phones that had PIM functions and synched with groupware. Web browsing? Cool I guess, but not enough to lay down $400+ IMO.

M

Comments on HP iPAQ hw6940 (finally) alive on HP's US site

Fred Flinstone will love this one. This is a start, but I would like some updated features on this thing. How about more onboard memory lets say 128MB of SDRAM instead of 64MB. A higher resolution screen would help too 320x320 and 260K colors instead of the 240x240 resolution and 64K. Give me bluetooth 2.0, and 8011.b/g compatability Also, I wouldn't mind at least a 2mp camera w/flash. And if we can cut the weight down to 4.5 oz, while maintaining good battery life, this thing would be perfect. Would ask for HSDPA, but EDGE will have to do since HSDPA isn't really available yet. Am I greedy or what? Just don't want to hand over $800 for something that will be replaced by a more powerful device with newer technology 6 mos later. I'd like to put that kind of money into something that will last at least 2yrs. And since everything I'm asking for is already available, why not? It was stupid for HP to offer the 6515 model w/ windows mobile 2003. That was such a waste since everyone knew tath win mobile 5.0 was so much better and already available when they were releasing the older model.

xman

Comments on HP iPAQ hw6940 (finally) alive on HP's US site

"Late spring"

Umm, they really are trying to stay within a short time-frame here, right?

Why not early-summer!

:)

Vinit

Comments on HP iPAQ hw6940 (finally) alive on HP's US site

I don't care for the phone edition OS. T-Mobile had EDGE enabled phones available before they had widespread EDGE coverage (I think). Just makes sense for these guys to get with the times. I can only envision UMTS being rolled out nationwide, yet there being only about 2 phones to use. (i.e. Cingular PTT) Won't surprise me ONE BIT.

Bryan

Comments on HP iPAQ hw6940 (finally) alive on HP's US site

if you go to the HP site, it now says Summer 2006 - This phone is as alusive as the PS3

RyanV

Comments on HP iPAQ hw6940 (finally) alive on HP's US site

This looks like the perfect phone for me.
