They could flip the switch on that one any time they wanted to practically.  Looks like it almost came back with the Intels, but maybe it was for the same reason.  <br><br>The reason why it never happened was plain and simple: Steve didn't want it to.<br><br>THIS IS NOT A RUMOR! Even by simply removing the top shell of the Mini would improve your range and quality of signal.<br>So having something on top would only hinder some of the operation of the Mini. Plus if you push the iPod on too heavily while the optical disc is in use.
