Toshiba's new WLT66 HD LCDs
The new WLT66 series of
LCD HDTVs from Toshiba has been announced for April UK
consumption, and the displays come in 32, 37, 42, and 47-inch flavors. All of the sets have dual HDMI, dual SCART (a European all-in-one analog connector) and Component ins,
along with an integrated digital tuner. The 32 and 37-inchers pack a 1366x768 resolution, while the 42 and 47 go for
the full 1920x1080 res. The 47-inch 47WLT66 is the only one to include an integrated speaker, but that's usually not
much of a loss, and prices start around $2k for the 32-inch sets.

The case design looks a lot like the Sony Bravia XBR lines.

Sorry for not knowing, but as an european, i like to know how do you connect the TV, DVD video... without an SCART???
Russ @ Feb 17th 2006 4:55PM
Aleix,
My TV has a row of 3 RCA connectors for video, and left/right audio:

I think s-video is less common:

Aleix - American's use S-video and RCA... Just to be confusing really... My computer has S-video, so sometimes I play UT2k4 and such on my 42" TV = )
America has S-video and RCA and NTSC, so its not suprising really that no one in europe knows how to connect without our wonderful invention known as SCART (Which I belive is one of the greatest things the french ever gave us.)

#2 and 3 Sorry to dissaponting you and the many other Sony Fans out there, but these DO NOT look anything like that Bravia XBR crap., First of all, these are STYLISH HIGH GLOSS PIANO BLACK, not matte Black like your Bravias. Sony is just hype with premium price tags, nothing else.
The stand looks a lot better on these than the one on the Bravias. The TFT panels on these is no other than LG-Philips., the best LCD panel available. The U.S. versions will be released later in the fall of this year. wait and see. nothing but style and quality something Sony will never be able to achieve.

This set dual HDMI which is great. Just like the Toshiba plasmas.

#7, sorry, but these do look very much like the Bravia's - the overall styling is strikingly the same, only the stand is squarish rather than circular -- whether it's gloss or matt black is largely irrelevant given all the other similarities. The good thing about these is dual HDMI and the 42's have native 1080. I recently brought a Bravia, and it's sitting next to me - I can vouch for the similarity.

Toshiba does SCART? Probably I shall put them back on my list of proper brands.
I still cannot get what you Americans and Japanese find in tinkering with tons of cables in the rear...

This TV looks fantastic. Can anyone tell me what the USA version of this LCD will be and when it will be on sale in the USA?
