AMD has a few things on the table for later this year (faster DDR2 memory ) but the memory change alone will not make up for the performance difference since AMD is already doing pretty well with memory bandwidth. AMD is going to be pushing 90nm chips for the rest of the year while Intel has moved to 65nm.
