I would LOVE to have this thing sitting on my end table if it had wifi.  I'm sorry, but I just couldn't justify running ugly cat cable running through my living room to my wife. Converting old laptops is a better solution, you get some say in frame design and customizability, plus the advantages of a Linux box (the choice operating system for the things).  Hell, play movies, have a remote digital radio, and grabbing an old lappie off eBay is often cheaper for a similar in spec prebuilt frame.<br><br>As for "why", think about it, they can rotate pictures, you can change them, update them, practically everything you can't do with a real picture frame.  What’s not to love?  Plus there is the 1337 factor.
