At least that's what Seiko might say. I can't find it.]]></description><dc:creator><![CDATA[Asher]]></dc:creator><pubDate>Mar 21st 2006 7:37PM</pubDate></item><item><title><![CDATA[Comments on Seiko Spectrum e-ink watch on eBay]]></title><link>http://www.engadget.com/2006/03/16/seiko-spectrum-e-ink-watch-on-ebay/</link><guid isPermaLink="true">http://www.engadget.com/2006/03/16/seiko-spectrum-e-ink-watch-on-ebay/</guid><description><![CDATA[I've been waiting for E-ink for a few years and now it is here.  <br>E-ink is a revolutionary new Display technology that allows the display to been bent or folded and even stamped on without the display being broken or damaged, it also promises to have better clarity and paper like properties than LCD displays. <br><br>I think the SEIKO has a done a superb job of introducing this new technology and I think other watch manufacters like CASIO will probably produce watches with this technology once E-ink has properly established itself in the market and has found a cheaper solution to production costs.<br>A clever feature to the Spectrum that will be most apparent to the user is that the watch acts like a bracelet and can actually be bent around the users wrist, E-ink can cleverly demostrate its flexibility and superb contrast on its display.<br><br>The price of the spectrum does seem rather steep but what has got to be remembered is that this is the first watch to incorporate E-ink and hence will become collectable and value permitting in the future.<br>The introduction of LCD watches in the 70's also started expensive and every since it was introduced it had reduced 10% of its value evry year untill even the most poverty stricken customer can afford the luxury of what was then a revolution in screen technology]]></description><dc:creator><![CDATA[James]]></dc:creator><pubDate>Apr 2nd 2006 4:07PM</pubDate></item></channel></rss>
