While I don't expect it to replace my digital camera or ipod, it does offer me to the chance to capture the quick shots that I would probably miss out on. The music playback is very good and the camera is as well. Being that this model I purchased is a tri-band designed for Asia and Europe, but also works on T-Mobile in the U.S.

My next SE will most likely be the W810 as it offers the quad-band and same basic functions as the 750/800/900 models have to offer. Also I like the redesign on the front buttons on the W810 and the camera's cover on the backside.

Mike

Comments on Sony Ericsson's W700i: just the W800i Walkman phone done-up in gold

I'm not a huge fan of gold-toned plastic on a phone, but it does look more neutral than the orange and white of the W800i, so looks wise I'd go for the W700 over the orange W800. Still, the K750i's black and silver versions are still the best looking colors for that type of phone.

The 2.0 Bluetooth is promising, but the only reason I'd buy a Walkman phone is if it had the A2DP and the AVRCP profiles so I can use my wireless stereo headset. Then maybe I can retire my old Rio Forge MP3 player.

My next phone is likely going to be an SE though. The price on the K750i looks like it's going down and the 2 MP camera will do in a pinch. The price is still way too high on the W810i, but I probably would have shelled out the money if it had A2DP on board.

What really has my attention is the K790a (or the K800 if Cingular ever decides to go 3G) which has a 3.2 megapixel camera. It may even have the A2DP profile as well. The only thing I'm wary of with the K790/K800 is the new Sony M2 micro memory stick format. Hopefully the price per MB won't be off the charts.

derrick

Comments on Sony Ericsson's W700i: just the W800i Walkman phone done-up in gold

You guys that have the W810i...what network are you on? Superb phone. I had a T39m, which at the time I was very happy about, especially the fact that the timer as well as the calendar alert would continuously ring in the way that the alarm did, i.e. continuously for a minute. It was also possible to simply have it silently vibrate for a minute (or until I stopped it. I need the W800i to do the same. I wondered if anyone could offer any kind of advice on this. Also,

I just bought my spanish girlfriend the same phone, but she would much rather have the phone language (menus, etc.) to be in Spanish.
