The fact that I can stash it away when necessary, like the compact form factor and lack of cables running around, like that it's nearly silent, and can still pack it up and take it with me when the need arises.

The desktop PC paradigm is quickly dieing. As far as this PC goes, it is the Yin to the UMPCs Yang. I don't think portability is its niche. Anyway, I think Dell's got a winner on their hands here. This isn't meant to have on your lap while sitting on the plane. This is a mobile desktop. I have a 17-inch laptop, and I hardly EVER move it, so this thing is gonna appeal to the gaming crowds, as well as anyone who simply wants the ability to move their powerful desktop easily whenever they need.

well. Gateway wasn't even formed until 1985. the original Macintosh all-in-one came out in 1984. the Lisa preceded it in 1983. the Kaypro II and Osbourne both preceded the Apple models by a year or so as well.
