With this technology the power consumption now is based on the number of screen refreshes. Thus, screens which refresh less often, like minute timers, would reduce their power consumption dramatically; whereas, LCD refresh often will see less of a benefit. <br>   Now which applications stand to benefit from this technology? Reasonably, I only see a small niche market of LCD devices which demand long battery life, for everything else the cost trade off which most like favor older LCD technology.
