I work for the Mot and the Canary, while very pretty, is a fingerprint machine!!

You should see how many RAZR incarnates are being developed....its pretty sad....talk about beating a dead horse. But I suppose why change the formula when even the original RAZRs cannot be made fast enough. They are still selling crazystyle.

I saw a sweet ass slider (not the one already shown on engadget) that is RAZR-ish and has that Soft-touch paint...oh man is that phone awesome. Look out for that one. The keypad had Asian character text on it as well so I'm betting this one isn't a North America phone...though it fucking should be.

I know you guys like Motos but hate the OS. Trust me, so do the engineers. But I've got 2 words for you: Legacy Software. To abandon all that old code that they've got in the OS overnight would cripple Motorola's SW teams and their ability to crank out decent SW releases. I don't know if any company could make such a ginormous change overnight, but Moto sure as hell can't. Fret not fellow gadgetwhores, the new Java/Linux OS is coming....and it looks sweet. But we all will have to wait for late 2007, early 2008 to see them start trickling out.

Kwijibo

Comments on

For what it's worth...
I think one of the commentors is correct, all Moto has is the Razr period. It badly needs to have the keys raised and more detent to them. It's a great phone for a woman.
Moto can't get phones out on time, their operating system sucks, and they haven't put out a decent phone since the Mpx220.
I myself want a converged device, WM5, Bluetooth, Wifi, Broadband, GPS, AND in a clamshell design, and with a usable outside LCD.
Linux, what for? so I can sync with my uh refridgerator, yup that would be so cool NOT.....
And Keyboard? What for?? WM5 has a keyboard built-in AND T9....
And how about a camera..ok if you have to, but the camera on the Mpx220 and on the V710 were like a joke.
Moto needs to stop making things that their ad agency can sell to us, AND start making things we can use at a price we can afford.
I love my Samsung I730 BUT it's NOT a pocket phone. I also love my Plantronics Voyager 510 WITH noise cancelling AND Windsmart technology. The interface is totally different and there's definitely a bunch of stuff on a co-worker's T-Mobile RAZR's UI that would annoy me too. It's by far the most customizable and moddable phone OS on the market today. There's plenty of software mods available for them and just as an example, that phonebook search issue Zach is talking about is just a firmware reflash away from being fixed. Don't blame Motorola, blame the carrier you bought it from for disabling tons of features that it's capable of.

Cheers,

www.motomodders.net

Lightworker

Comments on

i have the pink razr frm verizon i dont really care for it, ive had mine for appx 1 month an the like first week i had it the screen cracked wehn i tossed it onto my bed, the camera screen on the top has a chip outta it from i have no idea , i almost always have the leather case on it ,, i think they are to long and yeah itunes or mp3 would be hella nice on this phone. its a slow working phone. the pictures take forever to load. i liked it at first but now im really begining to regret the 400.00 i spent on it, i dont recommend this phone at all..

CJ

Comments on

I bought the pink razr from verizon about 20 days ago. I'm so disapointed with verizon for locking every single cool feature there was about the phone. ie: the external display can't be changed (it has an ugly burnt orange-brownish wallpaper), you can't change the home keys (except the down key), you can't set your own themes and color scemes, the camera and pictures takes 30-60 sec just to load, the phone is completly slow. Than last night on accident, my boyfriend dropped a glass of beer on it. No, there was no water damage but the glass fell on the external display screen and it shattered. So now I have a broken phone. I'm going to verizon today to have it fixed but I'm second guessing that now, maybe I'll just trade it in to get another phone... The "hottest" new phone isn't all what it's cracked up to be!

Monique
