But that doesn?t overpower the facts.

Ok Ill start from the begging.
Sony did not steal the idea from Nintendo. They have held a patent for it for years. I lost the link, and the one in this page someone posted is dead. In fact I faintly remember Microsoft using the same idea Sony is using in there ?PC Series of controllers the ?SIDEWINDERS? This was YEARS ago. Another fun fact, motion sensing has been around for years in arcades. I even played a sword game at a local movie THEATHRE, where u use a sword and a motion bar to slash your enemies. Konami was even going to release a game called ?Police 911 ? http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/action/police911/story.html?sid=2762376 ? for the Ps2 that INCLUDED a sensor bar like the one the Wii has, but never did. I played that game at an Arcade years ago and it was awesome. Those are a few fun facts about the Wii components.

W/E if u want to get technical, the two controllers are not the same technology at all. The Wii requires a external sensor, where as the ps3 controller is about its 6 axis tilt system. I hope Nintendo realizes everything that?s going to go wrong, and has tested there crap in a million real world situations. You know not everyone likes to jump around for hours playing Zelda, its going to get old real quick. OK onto the ps3, This has been said a million times. But most retards will bash Sony right away and say they copied them. I for one think the Wii is going to flop, just like the game cube did. Just look back at the E3 before the cube launched. They were just as excited about the launch of the cube as they are now about the Wii. I say good bye Nintendo, there?s no way there going to survive this flop. They have put to much money in to this investment. Nintendo forgets that the times are changing and gamers alike. Kiddie stuff like the Wii is just that, for kids, and the real money is in real gaming, not duck hunt. So Nintendo I salute you for the Nintendo, Super Nintendo, and your game boys'. After the N64, that?s where it ended for them. There just gasping for air, and its running out quick.

And what # 19 said, the rumble feature is gone because of that

"As in, it had nothing at all to do with them losing the case against Immersion Corp. and refusing to pay the license fee for their rumble patent???"

I?m more that sure it will never return. I personally never liked it anyway.

So there?s 5 months and change for the ps3 launch, things can change. This gives Sony plenty of time to finish everything up. They will get there shit together. Just look at the look back at pre e3, how everyone was saying ?Ps3 wont even show at all?. It was all hate. We shall see in the coming months. The next stop is the TOKYO GAME SHOW September 22nd; this is where Sony will strut its stuff for real. Also, Just as the ps2 true power wasn?t blooming at launch, but did a year or 2 later; the true power of the ps3 will not be exploited anytime soon. I?m predicting 2007 the year of the games. This years games will surely not use the ps3?s full potential. We will just have to wait. The one game that gets me wet is MGS 4.

Tony F.

Comments on Controller showdown: PlayStation 3 vs Wii

(27), mr. bot-- u spelled "pwnd" wrong..."/

boss sauce

Comments on Controller showdown: PlayStation 3 vs Wii

Personally, I think they all have their uses. Isn't that what "gaming" is all about? I mean even if the Wii is better gaming-functionality wise compared to the PS3, it still won't have the backing of great game titles. Ok, the Wii has Mario, Zelda, and Metroid, but that can't compare to what the PS3 is getting. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to play Nintendo's classics on their nextgen system using their nextgen controller, but if I were to have to choose which system to spend my money on, I'd probably choose the PS3. Do they even want people to buy their PS3? Back in E3 2005 Ken Kutaragi said," The Playstation 3(Praystation 3, in the way he said it) is not targeted towards households", then who the hell are they targeting? Not only that, but they are really making themselves look bad. When Nintendo unveiled the Wiimote has motion sensing capabilities, Sony made fun of them. When Microsoft announced the 360 would have 2 SKU's, Sony made fun of them. When Nintendo said people prefer gameplay and innovation over graphics and power, Sony made fun of them. Well look at Sony now. They copied motion sensing capabilities from the Wiimote, they put 2 SKU's on the Playstation 3, and they are now acting like they're innovative and trying to improve gameply with their gimmicky controller that can only be used for driving games and flight simulators. Sony, you aren't fooling anyone. Microsoft is worried about people going, "Hmmm... For $100 more I'm getting much better of a deal with the PS3 then the 360". OFCOURSE they're going to side with Nintendo.
4. What you Nintendo fanboys don't understand is that people DON'T buy games/systems for graphics. For the last few YEARS, you people assume they do (just because the PS3 does indeed, have the better hardware). Very ignorant.
5. Nintendo is using DVDs for the Wii. I like the innovation there, that doesn't sound like it'll get annoying at all.
2. I have a small room. I play games while sitting on the bottom bunk. Playing on the Wii really is going to suck at times. I can just imagine how much times I will bang my hand on the metal rods.
3. Lots of people tend to put there systems in cluttered spaces (ex. under the television). For people like that, lag will happen. Lots. The fact that you have to put it in an ideal area really sucks.
4. I understand that Nintendo isn't going for hardware. But something that tends to happen is when people play the PS2, it's HARD to play the PS1 due to the graphics. This may just happen with the Wii...
5. A HELL LOT of gamers think the Wii is stupid and even laugh at the idea. This has no point. If you bought them both you might notice that you have a few gems you like to play on the DS and you can hack the hell out of the PSP. All consoles entertain someone. Money makes little difference in the end. You don't care whether Kutaragi or Miyamoto's pockets are lined - You just want to play. And all of them deliver, so stop making mountains out of mole hills. Play the damn games, numbers mean little when it comes to your happiness. Besides, with a mini usb port they could likely add rumble later, and with nintendo's classic controller, fighters wont be a problem. The consoles have matured, why haven't you?
Look at Neo-Geo... Now, look at those 1000 games in one keychains. Someone was entertained by both.
