The Clix is a mildly updated version of the U10, including a more attractive and better-responding GUI. It's the first device to work flawlessly with WMP11 and Urge, and has a bunch of other, smaller details that make it different. It's not just a rebrand, it's an upgrade.

dan

Comments on iRiver Clix (U10) hits the US

The Clix is bar none, the best non-ipod device ever made and frankly, it has a much more attractive interface over the ipod. Although it looks externally like the older U10, it has been redesigned from the ground up with a beautiful interface and works perfectly with MP11 and URGE. Don't knock it until you try it (with MP11 & URGE)...

Dave

Comments on iRiver Clix (U10) hits the US

price?

cannedsoda

Comments on iRiver Clix (U10) hits the US

To "cannedsoda" who asks:

Price?

I ordered mine from iriver.com for $199.99 plus s/h.

Try google next time.

Rob

Comments on iRiver Clix (U10) hits the US

I have a 60GB 5G ipod, had a 20GB 3G before that, and an mp3/cd player before that (in the before times).

I've never been a fan of ipod replacement devices. They're always clunky and not quite as good, although often cheaper.
The U10/Clix is an exception. The interface is excellent and the screen is big and bright.

I was trying out the different player at circuit city, thinking about trying/buying a non-apple device. Though I looked at the Creative, Sony, Samsung, and Sandisk players, I kept going back to the iriver u10 that was on display. In fact, after playing with it for 20 minutes, then switching to the creative zen micro, I was actually repulsed by the smaller screen and non-intuitive menu system. I had to pick up the u10 again. I'm on the bandwagon, and will be getting one (with the alarm clock dock), as soon as the clix is commonly available.

I can't wait for the price of flash mem to go down; 2 gigs is still a bit small.

Gunvald

Comments on iRiver Clix (U10) hits the US

Actually the clix is only similar to the U10 in look, it has been built from the ground up as follows :
New faster processor
New faster graphics engine
All-new UI and improved interaction
Now supports Now Playing with Album Art, next song preview
Album Art, Ratings, Playcount, and Playlists sync directly with WMP11
Improved power management w/ sleep mode
Faster sync speeds
Faster playback of clear & subscription content
New "Smart Key" replaces display pivot button (Home, Play/Pause, Shuffle All, Display pivot, Start/Stop Recording)
Improved packaging for US market
Easy Start CD with WMP11 and MTV's Urge in-box (for US market)

mark

Comments on iRiver Clix (U10) hits the US

simply put, iPod is a social dick sucker.. they suck,,,

whereas iRiver really pwn.. i have an iRiver H320 and its simply sex..

iRiver is one brand you can put your trust into.. gg

Ahil
