This like all the other Westinghouse Digital products will defenitely be another Best Buy and J&R Computer World exclusive.

So what's the point of getting excited about a $3,000 47" LCD that claims to be 1080p with only one HDMI and 2 HDCP DVIs with questionable quality?

I heard and read more complaints for Westinghouse Digital products than praises. Half of thouse complaints are for the 42" 1080p LCD alone.

Perrey Z.

Comments on Westinghouse drops 47-inch 1080p LCD

I have the LVM-37w1 and find it to be an excellent unit in design and performance. It looks great when pumped with HDTV television content through its component inputs. The colors are very natural. I primarily use it as a computer monitor as well, and it makes an excellent HTPC display. I can't wait to see the reviews for the 47". If it's the same as the 37" with just 10" more diagonal real estate, I'm getting in line for one.

Chuck

Comments on Westinghouse drops 47-inch 1080p LCD

I own the LVM-42w2 and it rocks. But don't take my word for it, check out the reviews at avsforum.com and audioholics.com ... better yet, go see for yourself. You won't find a brighter, sharper picture in the same price range. The remote sucks, but I bought a $20 learning remote that controls everything and saved the Westy remote for backup.

Paul

Comments on Westinghouse drops 47-inch 1080p LCD

i have been using the westy lvm47w1 for almost 2 years now with my htpc and have been very pleased. since it is so light i was able to hang it on a swinging vesa arm from the wall at an optimal distance on a single stud. using the dvi was no prob for me since i am using an output from my pc anyway. i have the hdmi on the floor there so i can plug in the ps3 if i want (ps3 is often on the road) honestly there's not a whole lot else i need to plug in. sometimes i plug my wii into the component. (it's often a guest machine as well) i have the backlight turned down as far as it will go. sometimes during the day i will turn the backlight back up 10%. i have had zero issues with this display. no locked on pixels or anything. i wish i could get another one for as cheap as i got this one! it's hard to find another display this size with the vesa style bracketing

relaps

Comments on Westinghouse drops 47-inch 1080p LCD

I have recently purchased a Westinghouse 47" and the backlighting is very uneven and it has very noticible vertical banding. I had returned the 42" 1080p because it had tons of problems so I probably should have stopped there. I'm going to return this 47" and it give it one more shot but after that if it still has the vertical banding issue which I find unacceptable I'll move onto another company even though it will cost me alot more money.

Luke
