The HD picture quality was awesome. The standard def. was horrible at best. Do a search on this and you will find many people with the same problem. Verizon actually flew some motorola techs to my house and they investigated the problem. Told me it is a known issue, but will be a long time before it is fixed.

I know lots of people are happy with FIOSTV, but I also know quite a bit (and growing larger) of customers are having the same experience as me. Had to switch back to Bright House Networks and return all the tv boxes (but I kept the FIOS Internet..now that is awesome).

Maestr0

Comments on Verizon to offer "Home Media DVR" to FiOS customers

I've got FIOS Internet and FIOS TV...... Its a shame that verizon is the one putting up fiber. I dont know how the verizon tv service is but if they had the market locked up like they do for relieable phone service around here youd be paying to do stuff youd do on a tv normally for free like they do on there phone service. Want a wallpaper? pay verizon. Want a game? pay verizon. Want to look at wallpapers or preview ringtones? pay verizon. Want to send pictures to your computer? pay verizon. Want to play music on there phones? pay verizon. So I'd imagine they would have you paying to change the channel or to turn on the tv.

Anyway what I wanted to say before i got carried away with my verizon rant was 160GB drive for a HD DVR thats only about 160 hours of SD so what is it 4x as much in HD or more? so thats 19.95$ a month for a 40 hour DVR. verizon can blow it out theyre a$$

Sean

Comments on Verizon to offer "Home Media DVR" to FiOS customers

I can't believe Verizon is going to charge $7 a month extra for what is clearly just a software upgrade. I just started working at Verizon and deal in the fiberoptic tech support. A rpovider is a provider, and that's not going to change. Service in verizon is only slightly better than elsewhere most of the time. The video picture quality is superior, the phone is clearer (if you were having issues), and the internet kicks the living crap out of most other providers. Prices are comprable, or in some cases better. If it's a choice between time warner, or especially comcast, no contest. Cablevisions not as bad as the others, but still just a bit under verizon in many ways. I am not hyping it cause I work for em. I am hyping it cause it's good, it works, and when it's available to my building, I am getting rid of cablevision more likely than not.

God-gift
