It will take a while to iron out the bugs but its definately the next step. The driver won't have to pay attention when the car drives itself. Practically every low- to mid-range vehicle being sold in Japan at the moment is equipped with a car navigation system. Bye gas, by meaningless deaths, hello taxes doubling. But that doesn't mean that they use it all the time. For example, if I'm driving familiar roads (to, from work) I don't have my navi on.
