I read here at Engadget and Other Forums/Sites how so many of them were all on Dell-owner's cases regarding Dell's battery recall. (Tsk Tsk!)
I do own BOTH a Dell Inspiron E1705, And the new 17" MacBook Pro DuoCore, so you can see how Surprized! (for lack of a better word) I was and Am!
F-O-R-T-U-N-A-T-E-L-Y, Neither machine's battery was listed. (Whew!)
The point I'd like to make is this: It is a Certified FACT that ANY electronic item with the Lithium Ion batteries stand to RISK (not that it Will now) a case of Overheating AND/OR Fire! This includes Lith/Ionatteries in your Camcorders, Port. DVD players, even Cell phones! Once again, not that it WILL happen, but that it Could.
So I ask all of you who may Not own a Dell, Apple, Lenovo or Other "Battery by Sony" device to Quit being so Childish about such things and try to act Adult.
~No one is 100% Safe~
(Should anyone care to dicuss anything further with me, feel free to post it here on Engadget. We can always talk.)
That's all I have to say.
One.
Tony

Tony

Comments on

Well what do you know, the battery for my 12" 1.5Ghz G4 PB is getting replaced. The battery on my sister's iBook has a serial number well within the range listed on Apple's page and is the correct model number, but when I enter it in the form I'm told that the battery is not eligible for replacement. We'll have to call when the phones open up tomorrow. So, make sure you look at the posted ranges and don't just trust the serial number verification.

And in response to my.laptop.assplode: You won't be without a battery for 4-6 weeks.
