I just tried to apply for the replacement online, and even though my battery does fall within the affected range, the online form says it’s not a valid number. I called Apple about it. They told me that the online form is wrong. They are experiencing technical difficulties with the servers (probably too much traffic). They asked me to try again later… they weren’t able to do it over the phone. I do own BOTH a Dell Inspiron E1705, And the new 17" MacBook Pro DuoCore, so you can see how Surprized! (for lack of a better word) I was and Am!
F-O-R-T-U-N-A-T-E-L-Y, Neither machine's battery was listed. (Whew!)
The point I'd like to make is this: It is a Certified FACT that ANY electronic item with the Lithium Ion batteries stand to RISK (not that it Will now) a case of Overheating AND/OR Fire! This includes Lith/Ionatteries in your Camcorders, Port. DVD players, even Cell phones! Once again, not that it WILL happen, but that it Could.
So I ask all of you who may Not own a Dell, Apple, Lenovo or Other "Battery by Sony" device to Quit being so Childish about such things and try to act Adult.
