I know that the picture quality of the Everio line hasn't been praised for being amazing, but it's suitable. I've wanted a camera with a harddrive (HDD) for awile now, and I was thinking of their latest 505, but if they're going to release HD next year...! But let's at least hope they include some sort of built-in lens cap...I lose everything not attached.

Tek

Comments on JVC showing high definition Everio at IFA

let's see if it's HD or HDV because if it's HDV then it's really nothing new or special... The worst part is they never have replacement parts to even fix issues they know are issues due to bad design. They then do what they can to not honor their warranties. I made the mistake of purchasing quite a bit of JVC when upgrading?????

Look me up in a year when you've purchased this and it stopped working six months from now.

Tim

Comments on JVC showing high definition Everio at IFA

JVC sucks (honestly)

MNA

Comments on JVC showing high definition Everio at IFA

the higher the resolution the higher the price..

Matt

Comments on JVC showing high definition Everio at IFA

I wish Sony or Canon made something like this...

Shredsled87

Comments on JVC showing high definition Everio at IFA

Sony does make an HDV camera that costs around $2,000. This nakes sense as well as being a good move (if it is as stated) considering the fact that JVC has been a reluctant player in the HDV consortium/group. If it states "50/60 frames," then it's most likely a misprint or mistranslation -- it should probably read "50/60 fields." At a data rate comparable to AVCHD's or HDV's, 50 or 60 frames/sec (50p/60p) would likely start to look suboptimal.

tzedekh
