Gee Nintendo, I really believed you could do it! I thought you would be the ones who would stop treating the UK like some place you can just seriously overprice stuff and get away with it!

£180!?!?! What the F*ck! What happend to the 'in line with American and Japanese prices'? Now you're stopping us from buying your consoles in other countries, I thought you were, 'breaking the mould' and such like, but you didn't have the guts to treat us Brits like equals to the Americans and Japanese!

I've started so I'll finish, why does any and every comapny feel the need to overcharge us for EVERYTHING!?!?!

Apple,Dell,Sony,Nintendo,Microsoft all treat us like a really good way to make huge profit margins on us Brits!

Please someone give us a break! Why charge so much more here than everywhere else, not only do we have some of the highest taxes, stupidest leaders (George Bush is no where near the fool Tony Blair is, at least you can get rid of Bush after 8 years!) and on top of all that we pay through the nose for stuff the rest of the world get's cheap!

As soon as I can I'm gonna leave this Sh*itehole and go Stateside and away from the legions of football hooligans, slags and Scousers (no offence to any passing Liverpudlians)!

I said it earlier (http://www.nintendowiifanboy.com/2006/09/14/the-wii-is-region-free/#c2108388) but I guess if it doesn't come from IGN, no one listens. Even still, if you read (not even that carefully) they NEVER said it was region free. They only said Nintendo first-party games are region free. They didn't hide this or use backtalk

The whole gaming/gadget media needs to get a smack for this one. Their logic is likely that if you lock a person to buying a product released in their own country, you can charge less where people make less without hurting your sales in countries you charge more in. It's a flawed logic, yes, but large companies tend to come with that.

Region locking is retarded, along with DRM. I think I might pay $2-$3 a song to get it without DRM...but music labels are totally blind to this because they'd rather be pushing to get us sued than innovate...which is why I don't buy music at all...I download it all. Same goes for most of Square-Enix catalogue. I know this isn't in relation to the Wii directly but hopefully you get what I mean.

Plus Japan gets all the really wacky/cool/downright bonkers games no-where else does!

This is retarded. This will hurt european gamers like nothing else. Remember N64/GC. Lot of stuff never appeared on this side of pond. Or maybe Nintendo is planning to double the prices on european titles compared to US ones. It also means europeans will get their games 3-6 months later than their US counterparts.

Living in Ireland, I was a big time Mario gamer, but when I moved to the U.S. my PAL NES and SNES decks and all games were useless. So I got an NTSC Snes deck, costing $200 and began building a new collection of games.

A couple of years later I moved back and voila - found my new deck and game collection useless, including a lovely game called Super Mario RPG, and this game was really, really good so I was prepared to pay again for the PAL version ... but there was none. Also, most Nintendo console power supplies use custom currents and voltages so getting a new adapter was out of the question.

Although I still have the whole lot here, short of buying an American electricity generator, my NTSC kit is useless. And I'm still a little bit bitter about losing my favourite (now classic) games.

My only mistake was to buy Nintendo gear in good faith. It was a mistake that caused the loss of hundreds of dollars, and a good deal of aggravation when I moved.

I can assure Nintendo that I will not be making that mistake again, and they won't see a cent of my money, end of story. I'm done with gaming consoles and Nintendo in particular.
