Also, most Nintendo console power supplies use custom currents and voltages so getting a new adapter was out of the question.

Although I still have the whole lot here, short of buying an American electricity generator, my NTSC kit is useless. And I'm still a little bit bitter about losing my favourite (now classic) games.

My only mistake was to buy Nintendo gear in good faith. It was a mistake that caused the loss of hundreds of dollars, and a good deal of aggravation when I moved.

I can assure Nintendo that I will not be making that mistake again, and they won't see a cent of my money, end of story. I'm done with gaming consoles and Nintendo in particular.

Besides, PC Gaming is way more fun, and a hell of a lot more flexible.

ex-Nintendo-fan

Comments on Wii to be region-locked after all?

It kind of makes sense. Region encoding can lock down early releases in certain countries. Nintendo had to do something worse than Sony. Sony was kicking their butt in the bad decision department. Nintendo needed something to fire back with soooo they chose to make their system Non-Region Free. I think they wanted to give sony a fighting chance. That or Sony paid them alot of money to make their system region-encoded so Sony would be able to market "The only Region-Free console" since they screwed the pooch on the price and the Blu-ray technology. Unless the Xbox 360 is also regino free, then sony really screwed the pooch! But what do I know, other than I now have to mod my Wii to keep up my Japanese skills.

Oh and Hunt check the just kidding link at the bottom of the article you posted[Update 1: Just kidding.
