Nokia's N95 smartphone goes legit

We're still struggling with a spat of fainting fits across the Engadget HQ, but that Nokia N95 pre-release info leak last night wasn't no hearsay. Nokia just dropped their complete fanboy specsheet of a S60 phone in the Nokia N95 today, including a 5 megapixel camera, integrated GPS, 802.11g WiFi, HSDPA, microSD, 150MB of internal memory and pretty much any other spec you could ever care to have stuffed into your phone by a Finnish "multimedia computer" manufacturer. The 2.6-inch QVGA screen should provide plenty of room to partake in all this specification glory, and there's a full-on 3.5mm audio jack to enjoy your multimedia in a convenient manner. Of course, that 550 euro pricetag ($700 US) wasn't no joke neither, but luckily we have until Q1 '07 -- that's when they're busting this thing out in Europe -- to get all practiced up on our petty thievery. Ndy, that link is listed in this scam tracking website: http://nekkidtruth.blogspot.com/search/label/eBay. Of course, even if I hadn't found it listed when I googled it, I'd never send money to something with an obvious random .scam domain.

When this does show up on ebay, it'll be sold first by importers shipping from HK, for something like US$700-800.

hmmm very nice, but the internal memory really sucks compared to the n91s monster 4 GB. how can there be only 150MB of memory for such a state of art phone? forcing consumers to by additional memory.... 1 GB sds are like 50-75$ or even 100$ depending on what type. anyway does anyone know if the GPS can work worldwide or do you have to pay monthly by the provider??

Anyone in this forum know detailed information about the funtionality of the camera and the flash on the N95.
I have the N93 model and it sucks taking pictures in the dark.
I does not turn on the pre-photo light to auto-focus,it does not strobe the light to take care of the red-eye and finally when you take the picture the flash is so weak you can not pick out the person's face even from 50 cm.
However you can turn on the light while shooting your videos but it is so dim you have to get about 30 cm close tot the person's face.The only thing the N93 has going is the 3X optical zoom.You have take care of the red-eye by going into the picture menu after you have taken the photo.
N73 has all the features N93 is lacking.
I was wondering if any of you know whether the N95 has these camera features.

When will nokia bring out n95i or another phone that will have advantage over the n95 and the host of its other brands. I think the price is rather on the high side. Do most people really use all the features that they are paying for? Is it not unfair for nokia or other phone makers to deliberately leave out certain features in their today's models only to introduce them in newer models within such a short time? How many phones do they want us to own?

this phone will be incredible. vastley better than the i phone. it will hit the uk on the 2nd of april on all the major networks. the phone itself will not be cheap and probably not free no matter how much you are willing to pay a month. the one thing i can see that lets this phone down a bit is the fact the the sat is roughly £5 per month to use if you want voice command turn by turn instructions. i hope you can install tom tom on it, then there will be no stopping it. apart from that the list of software applications for the s60 is imense. from tv remote to mosquito repelent, it will literally do everything. the 5 megapixel will be great with the carl zeiss lens, only i hear the flash is a bit poor, oh well, i'm still getting one the day they hit the stores.
