My Canon SLR digital cameras will still blow any camera phone way out of the water in terms of performance and quality results. Maxwell Smart's "Shoephone" was funny and somewhat interesting on the old television show, "Get Smart", but his other shoe which didn't have a phone in it worked much better as a shoe, and his dedicated phone worked much better as a phone than did the shoephone. As far as I see it, this "everything in a single device philosophy phenomenon is more about keeping the masses addicted to new stuff, than it is about practicality.

rkaussner

Comments on Nokia's N95 smartphone goes legit

Checkout
www.everydaycell.com
with 1 year U.S. warranty

tolga

Comments on Nokia's N95 smartphone goes legit

holy crap that thing looks awesome! i need a replacement for my p910, but i think i want something with a QWERTY keyboard. the flip on my p910 broke and i hate not having the keyboard anymore (no matter how tiny it was).

Still, GPS, 5MP camera, wifi and that decent sized screen are pretty nice...even if it doesn't run WinMo.

Andy

Comments on Nokia's N95 smartphone goes legit

is that camera on the front the 5mp one or is that an additional one. if that's the only camera, that's poor placement. :-(

Andy

Comments on Nokia's N95 smartphone goes legit

@ Andy

The camera on the front is probably a VGA camera for video calls; the real camera is on the back. The phones are cheaper in the US.

I was in Finland this summer and I couldn't understand why a phone produced by a Finnish company costs more there than in the US. The price difference was significant in the higher end models. And not just because of the unfavorable exchange rate. In some cases the price in euros was higher than the price in USD here, e.g. the price tag was 450 euros, compared to something like 399 USD here.

Just make sure you do some comparison shopping before making any buying decisions. It could easily cost you in excess of $100.

tpp

Comments on Nokia's N95 smartphone goes legit

The phones are cheaper in Finland than in the US... when looking at the unsubsidised price. In the US, most phones are sold budled with a subscription (in the long run:costs more than buying the phone) where as in Finland you get the buy the phone and choose the operator you wish to use, anytime, anywhere, while keeping your number.
