It was very clean looking, small, lightweight, decent performance. It also had a loud whiney fan, constant restarts, and wouldn't turn on after a month. Their CS was also very poor. I had to pay out of my own pocket to have it sent to them to get repaired, which took over a month. No status updates, etc.

check online for other ppls comments on averatec products and their cs. very poor. hope things have changed.

Mike

Comments on Averatec goes dual-core with ultraportable 2300

I own two averatec pieces myself - a small 12 inch and their instant play 15 wide laptop and no problem there. I've been a fan since their great follow up on my rebate coupon and know a few others who had pretty darn good experience with their service. I don't enjoy talking to those hardly understandable cs people from another country that these branded guys use.. I would keep recommending averatec to all my friends.

joe

Comments on Averatec goes dual-core with ultraportable 2300

Not me man...I've had an avertec for 2 years now and its NEVER given me any problems, whatsoever. My newest lappie is the black and yellow livestrong HP (y'all know the one signed by Lance?) and its a total piece of sh!t. The top is getting large stress cracks right around each of the two hinges that the display swings from, just from everyday opening and closing...what junk. 'Course HP won't do anything about it since its been just over a year since it was purchased. I think this new Averatec is just what I need.

Scott Neary

Comments on Averatec goes dual-core with ultraportable 2300

I got my wife a smaller Averatec from Circuit City at a great price. She dropped it right on the power connection and it broke inside the case. CC were clueless but the Averatec service people were great. We paid for shipping there but they covered it for the return trip - plus, they replaced the whiney fan we never even mentioned. It was dropped a second time and repaired a second time with no issue. I'll buy another one eventually.

Chris B.

Comments on Averatec goes dual-core with ultraportable 2300

Just got a 2300 for $750 at Officemax (with rebate) - I am very impressed with keyboard, screen; runs fast! & cool, quiet - great little laptop!

David G.

Comments on Averatec goes dual-core with ultraportable 2300

Ive been using this pc since July...it great...the portability of this is great compared to my older toshiba 15" laptop which weighed 8lbs (which i loved before i came across this pc)...i havent had a single thing wrong with the pc and i have pretty much loaded up the hard drive and it still runs as fast as ever...for a pc under $1K i have to admit im incredibly amazed by its performance...i was expecting to pay atleast $2K for a pc that would match my standards...but i fell in love with this one...

Susan
