Also, has anyone thought of modifying the PE8720 to upgrade the unit to produce 1080P? but i am still waiting to get ahold of a 1080p DLP projector, but just waiting for a little price drop.

and by each passing week its geting close and closer.

The new Panisonic PTX100 or something like that is a 720p that'll do up to 2000 actual lumens so that it can be used with ambient light in the room.

Check out that and the z5 on that site.

I will wait for the projector that can pump out either 720p or 1080p resolution BUT BUT BUT ...WITH A LAMP LIFE ABOVE 6000hrs atleast.....8000hrs being the best.

1000 luminen is good enough for home movies.......

I didn't believe it was going to happen, but now look at this! I'm glad to see projectors becoming so much more popular and affordable since I've always wanted one but never really could justify the costs...

I do somewhat agree about the "expensive bulbs" problem, but the other thing you have to realize is that people want small, quiet projectors with no light leaks. In order to use less expensive lamps you have to sacrifice on all three points.
